view source worksheet when entering formula

When I enter a simple formula, in my active sheet, referencing another
worksheet: I hit the + sign and the view goes back to the original active
sheet.
I want to keep the view on my data source worksheet and then when I hit
enter the view should go back to my active sheet.
Sample: I hit the "=" sign to start the formula, click another worksheet,
click the cell to use, click the + sign and the view automatically reverts
back to my active sheet. I have to keep clicking the data source worksheet
to add multiple cells from the data source.
What is wrong in my excel setup?

Thsi falls into the "Feature not a bug" category. It's default Excel
behavior, there's nothing wrong with your setup.
One way you might try is to create a second window to your Excel
workbook ("Window / New Window" in Excel 2003) then resize the two
windows so part of each is visible. Now you can start your formula in
one window while clicking on the cells you want to reference in the
second window. The standard Excel behavior still occurs, but visually
things are easier to handle.

I don't believe it is a feature and is not Excel default behaviour.

You should be able to enter an = sign then switch to next sheet and select a
cell then hit + key and keep selecting more cells in that sheet until you hit
ENTER, at which time you will return to first sheet.

Gord,
Not to argue with an MVP, but my experience with Excel exactly
matches JT's, and has on many different installations of Excel on many
different PCs. So is it a setting somewhere?
