I am new to proj and have assignments of reporting tasking and resources
used for out company. This is time using for each proj. Not difficulty but
I spends much time each week performing. Hope to see if some has some
automation that they would share that would make the following simplier each
weekly for me.

Steps for my reportings;

Open each projects file
open my custom view ChuTasking
Select right hand column
Open excel and paste into column a2
go back to projects file
open the resource sheet
select all
go back to excel and paste into new sheet 2 on cell a2

see no dificutly but very time usage each week.

Hopes to get automation with this

Chu,
Exporting Project data to Excel is very common and automating the export
normally means using a VBA macro. However, from what you describe it may
be that all you will need is a properly set up export map, (File/Save As
- save as file type), and some formatting and editing in Excel.

The steps you describe are much to general to allow a more specific
answer. For example, is "ChuTasking" at task view, a resource view or a
combination view? What field is the "right hand column"? How are sheet 1
column A2 and sheet 2 column A2 in Excel related?

Rather than attempting to describe what you are doing, it would be much
easier for us to help you if you tell us what you are trying to
accomplish as the end goal.

Since you are new to Project I suggest you go to our MVP website at,
http://project.mvps.org/links.htm, and click on the button on the left
for Mike's tutorials. That will help to give you needed background on
Project and how it works. And if you are interested in learning Project
VBA, fellow MVP Rod Gill has an excellent book on the subject. You can
find more details at, http://www.projectvbabook.com.
