View, Zoom, One Page

When I select View, Zoom, One page, the document views in a square /landscape
image instead of a potrait image, but the page is selected as 8 1/2 x 11 and
potrait orientation. What did I change and how do I get it back to view as
is? It prints correctly. I am using print layout as my document view.

Thank you this did the trick for now, but I am not sure what I did that some
documents viewed one way and some others - is there a setting I accidently
selected when viewing a single document?

All documents open in the view in which they were saved.
