Viewdrop folder

David

While updating & publishing the existing projects, the xml files get stuck in
the Viewdrop folder & changes does not appear in the Project view.
When the Viewdrop folder is cleared & project republished the first project
published appears but the file gets stuck in the Viewdrop folder.
Subsequently for all the other publishes it get stuck & no changes in the
Proejct view.
Only when the Viewdrop is cleared, the first project which is published
appears & all other get stuck.
Could someone explain what has to be done????

David.

David:

This indicates that your system isn't correctly installed and configured.
So, what someone needs to do, is diagnose the issue by either reviewing your
installation logs to determine what step was missed, or simply diagnose the
system to see why publishing is failing. You can start by reviewing the
errors you're seeing in the application event log on the server. Post these
here.

There are no error logs in the Event Viewer. The system was working fine with
project publish when all of a sudden I am facing this problem of files
getting stuck in the Viewdrop folder. I have reset the com+ settings still no
results. I can only publish currently by emptying the Viewdrop folder & the
first file sent to publish in the list publishes but this file still remains
in the Viewdrop folder. Please help!!

Regards,
David.

David:

I've never seen this happen without errors showing up in the Application
Event logo on the server, but I guess there's always a first time. I'd say
look at permissions on the ViewDrop folder but authentication problems would
certainly throw errors in the logs.

On checking the Event Viewer I am getting the following errors:

The Serv-U FTP Server service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
Event ID:7000.

Source: Dnsapi
EventID: 11152
The system failed to register network adapter with settings..

Source:Netlogon
EventID: 5719
No Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller is available for domain.
There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

The server is Windows 2000. I am able to logon to the server using the
domain name (even though the above errors are indicated in the Event
Viewer). All web users & Project users are able to access the Project
Server. The only problem being faced is in the Publish not being updated on
the Web views.

Please inform what else has to be checked on the configuration?

David.
