Viewer and Custom Shows

The viewer seems to have trouble running custom shows, and
I'm looking for a solution. I'm hyperlinking inside a
presentation to custom shows. When running from
PowerPoint, it works great. When running from the viewer,
it begins with the first slide listed in the custom show
but then just goes from slide to slide without regard to
the list in the custom show. (PowerPoint 2000
Professional, viewer 97; slides in the custom shows are
within the same presentation.)

No, I didn't, because I don't want the show to return to
the slide containing the link to it - I want it to go
through the timed slides and then stop on a different
one. The only way I found to fix it is to place the
slides in order, and link to the first slide instead of to
the custom show. Does the viewer not handle custom shows?

The Viewer does handle Custom Shows correctly in my tests. I placed a link
on slide 1 to Customshow1. Customshow1 is comprised of Slide 3 and Slide 8.
When I play the slide show in the Viewer, I click on the link on Slide 1 and
it jumps to Slide 3. When I click on Slide 3 the show advances to Slide 8
and the Slide Show ends when I click on Slide 8.
