So that my bitmaps and video clips don't get horribly scaled I format them as
'Best scale for slide show' (e.g. at 1024x768) and set the slide show
resolution also to the same resolution. If I play the show from Powerpoint
then it sets the screen resolution to that which is set in the presentation
and all is well. Playing the show from the viewer (latest one at the time of
writing) results in it being played at whatever the current screen resolution
is, rather than the resolution set in the show.
Another example of a 'useful' feature in Powerpoint being useless if you
want to distribute a slideshow (search this forum for 'jaggy' to see another
one - custom animations give jaggy text when played with the viewer but not
when played with Powerpoint). Sigh.
