Viewing Calendar & Task Pad_Outlook 2003

I want my task pad to display with my calendar.
When I first set it up, the task pad had 2 columns. The date was to the
left, the subject/task to the right. There were 2 lines to each task.

Something happened, and now each date appears on a horizontal line, with the
tasks for that date listed below it, also in their own horizontal lines.

I'd like to get the original view back - though also organizing them by
categories (I only use 2) would be helpful.

Next, a small monthly calendar appears over my task pad. A co-worker says
hers appears on the far left column, beneath the list of calendars she has
access too.

How do I move that calendar?

So what view do you have selected? The view you describe as the old view
sounds like the "Simple List" view to me. The second view sounds like the
same view, but with Show in Groups selected and arranged by date. Click
View>Arrange By and uncheck Show in Groups.
I'd like to get the original view back - though also organizing them by
categories (I only use 2) would be helpful.

Then select the By Category view.

If you have the Taskpad showing, the Date Navigator (the little calendar) will
appear above the Taskpad. If you close the Taskpad, the Date Navigator will
appear in the Navigation Pane on the left. If you expand the top of the
Taskpad over the top of the Date Navigator, it will also appear in the
Navigation Pane.

Thanks Brian.
It probably was the simple view, but I can't find how to get it back. I
played with rearranging things so much that I don't know what the original
settings would be.
Currently I have it arranged by "date," but had tried some custom settings
first. These are the custom settings that are set right now:
Fields: due date and subject as the only selections
Groups: none
Sort: due date ascending
Filter: off
Filter columns: Due Date-left; Subject-right

The "reset current view" is grayed out.

Moving the Date Navigator worked great! Thanks :)

Brian - one more thing.
When I pull the margin bar to the far left, extending the task pad to be as
wide as possible, the columns are set up as I'd like them:
the due date is on the left (top line)
subject is to the right
next two lines are text from task
However, when I minimize the column, all that remains is the Subject/text.
The top (header) says "Arranged by Date" and the next section has an
arrow-head pointing down.
I've noticed co-workers have a heading that says "due date" and "subject"
and they can click/drag either column hed to where they want it.
I don't have that. When I click in the "Arranged by: Date" or arrow-head, it
just changes the order of the tasks.

Does that help explain my problem better?

Start Outlook once with the /cleanviews command switch to reset all your views
to their defaults.
