Viewing & copying PPt Masters

I am using Powerpoint version 11.2.4 on a MacG4 running OSX 10.3.9. My
questions:
1. Why is it that when I start a new presentation, the
View>Master>Title Master is greyed out? Even if I add a new Title
Slide, the Title Master is still not activated. Only on some older
presentations is the Title Master active and available.
2. How do I create multiple Slide Masters? It seems I can only get
multiple Slide Masters if I add a slide from another presentation with
a different layout (and the PPt Preferences>Advanced>Multiple Masters
"Keep design when copying . . ." checked ON.)
3. Is it possible to copy a Slide, Handout or Notes Master from one
presentation to another? Having set or reset all the options and
adjustments in one presentation it is very tedious to exactly replicate
those settings in another presentation - aside from using the original
as a template and starting a new presentation from scratch.)

Wonderful, Steve. Thanks muchly.

Many of PPT's templates don't include a Title slide master, odd as that may
seem.

You can do View, Master, Slide Master then Insert, New Title Master to add a
title master to the template, though.


This is really a mostly-Windows PPT group, though the name doesn't make it
obvious. I'd ask this question in Public.Mac.Office.PowerPoint ...
Mac-Friendly, Mac-Knowledgeable folks be there.

But I'm fairly sure that what you've described is the only way to get add'l
masters in Mac PPT versions.


Have you tried saving the original as a template and applying it to another
presentation? For that matter, you can treat any presentation as though it
were a template and apply it to another presentation. Format, Slide Design,
choose the folder where you saved the presentation, set ppt to show ALL
DOCUMENTS and pick your presentation. Apply it to all or selected slides,
depending on your needs. At least that's how it works in Mac PPT X (and with
slight variations, in all PC versions)
