Visio binary files used a stream-based storage mechanism. There are two
streams (which you can consider to be two parts to the file). In one stream
is a standard set of items such as metadata about the author, last edit date
and a thumbnail image of the drawing. In the other stream is the actual
data that makes up the file. When Visio cannot read a file, there is a
problem with the data stream. Windows may still be capable of reading the
metadata stream to see the thumbnail image.

telling me that there is nothing I can to repair the file????

Because I too am experiencing the same error!!!

Whom shall I direct the bill for my time to at Mincrosoft?

Not happy JAN!
