viewing Draft projects

Is there any way to view a list of Projects that are not yet published in
Project Server 2007? I am often in the situation where I am setting up many
projects and juggling resources but do not want them published until
finalised (to prevent allocation of tasks to resources).

The only way to gain access to them is by opening MS Project and selecting
from recent files.

The only place in PS I can see them is under Delete Enterprise Objects.

All PWA views are pulled from the Reporting DB, so besides from "Delete Ent
Objects", you cannot access such a list in PWA.

You could create a SQL query and display the results on a web page, though
as I'm sure you're aware this wouldn't be supported by MSFT.

seems to me like a real oversight ! It is not unusual to have a number of
projects in the pre-published stage.

oh well...

That's what the Booking Type field is for Resources. Set all resources for
your proposed projects to Booking Type Proposed and they won't affect the
Resource's availability. When the project is confirmed, reset the Booking
Type to Committed. I usually set all Generic Resources to default to
Proposed and real Resources to Committed, but if I need to assign a real
Resource to a proposed project I set its Booking Type to Proposed.

In addition I have a Project custom field with proposed so I can report on
Proposed and Active projects separately.

But won't setting resources to Proposed affect the ability to level resources
with existing published projects? When setting up the new projects I
allocate the resources and then check the effect that leveling has and do
what ever adjustments I need to do eg prioritise tasks/projects and delays
etc.
