I WORK WITH EXCEL 2007 AT WORK ON A PC, AND TO VIEW THE CELLS BEING PICKED UP IN A FORMULA, CAN SELECT THE CELL THAT CONTAINS THE FORMULA, HIT "F2", AND THE CELLS INCLUDED IN THE FORMULA WILL BE HIGHLIGHTED.

I HAVE NOT YET FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO THIS IN EXCEL 2008 ON MY MAC?? THE DEFAULT KEYBOARD SHORTCUT IN EXCEL 2008 FOR THE F2 KEY IS THE "CUT" FUNCTION.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS SHORTCUT I AM INQUIRING ABOUT IS CALLED? AND IF SO, HOW CAN I GET IT TO BE A SHORTCUT ON MY KEYBOARD?

Mac Excel doesn't have default keystrokes for Trace Precedents or Trace
Dependents, but you can assign them via Tools> Customize Keyboard. See Excel
Help on the subject for complete instructions.

Now why didn't he just say he wanted to "edit in the cell"? Guess I got
retinal shock from trying to decipher the all-caps :)
