Viewing multiple projects at once

Is there a way in Project 2003 to pull multiple projects into a single
central calendar? The tasks for the Projects will need to remain in separate
files but I need to see the dates and resource assignments in 1 central
location.

Create a master project, insert the projects into it.
Use the Calendar view applied to the Master Project file.

Can the creation of the Master Project file be done within 2003 without
Project Server?

Yes. Insert/Project.... browse to the file of your choice
