Viewing "My Resources" per RBS

I have established and RBS based on our reporting structure. Beginning with
the CEO over everyone, down to the VP's over their departments and then their
individual departments are further broken down by directors and managers etc.
Now I want to see the resources in the "My Resourses" view and have checked
the "filter by RBS" box in the view settings but, I get nothing and it says I
have no resources or the permissions are not set to allow this view. I have
checked the settings and the view is included in the Executives security
setting. I do not understand why the CEO cannot see the entire enterprise
resources or why the VP's cannot see just their departments when trying to
use the view "My Resources".

The RBS is set up by department with the person listed in that department,
i.e. the first level is the CEO Depart. which includes the CEO, Executive
Admin, Program Manager, and department VP's. Shouldn't the CEO be able to see
the entire enterpirse as his resources? Shouldn't each VP be able to see
their direct reports only?

Darrell --

In the Resources section of both the My Organization and My Projects
categories, I believe you need to make sure the following options are
selected:

-- Only the resources specified below
-- Allow users in this category to view information for all resources that
they manage

Doing so sets up security based on each user's RBS value. Executives should
see everyone below them in the RBS outline structure, while Project Managers
will only see those directly below them. Hope this helps.

If I am listed in the RBS as - (Company Name.CEO.Program Manager) shouldn't
the CEO be able to view me as a resource? I have tried a lot of different
settings, including your suggestions, without being able to view any
resources in the "My Resources" view for anyone, including project resources.

Dale,

Thx for your help. After seeing that unchecking the filter showed me the
entire resource pool I finally went all the way back to my RBS and re-did it
one more time and this time I got it right. I can now use the RBS filter and
it works correctly. Now I just have to get the security templates right so
that department managers can see their direct reports.

Thx again,
Darrell
