Viewing only the inbox folder

I'll try to be clear in posting this message. My group has an email address
that was created so customers can send emails, files, reqs, etc. w/o having
to know anyone's email. Now the email does not forward to each of our emails,
instead we import the file into outlook and then I can click on the inbox to
see what's coming in. We have a third party that takes care of these emails
so we don't need to get them we just need to be able to view/monitor what
comes in the box for QA and just in case we need to serve as back up for the
third party.

However, once you import a mailbox you see not only the inbox but all the
other default folders on the list (calendar, contacts, etc.). I know if the
helpdesk just gave the group 'rights' to the inbox when we imported it we
would then only see that folder, but I don't even want to try and call the
helpdesk to ask them to do this. It will probably confuse them. :)

Is there a way that I (on the client/user side) can hide all these folders
and just have the 'inbox' listed so I can have access to monitor what comes
into the box and not overcrowd my folder list?

thanks
hile

Remove the mailbox from your Exchange account settings and open it with the File | Open | Other User's Folder command instead.

Thanks Sue,

I've done that in the past but it opens it up in a separate window, and I
just want to be able to click on it on my folder list. This way I can glance
at it and see how many emails are coming in w/o even clicking on it also.

Is that not possible w/o setting rights accordingly?

No, you can't have it both ways. The mailbox owner would need to give you None access on all the folders in the mailbox you don't want to see.
