Viewing the bigger picture

I’ve been trying to work out how I can get different projects to relate to each other. As I explained previously I have a team of around ten software developers each with different skills in different languages. At different phases of a project’s lifespan I may require the skills of different people. My difficulty is viewing that particular resource’s existing commitments

If I have one developer – Nancy – working on project A from Monday to Thursday, of week one. Then she’s not required on project A until the following Tuesday, until the end of the week. Meanwhile project B needs Nancy’s skills for one day and project C needs her skills for half a day. How can I view from within project B and C when Nancy has free time? And then how would I be able to view the remaining empty half day within that two week period? And ultimately; how would I be able to view when Nancy runs out of work altogether

Hello,

You have to connect all three projects to a resource pool then you can see
the big picture
Open a new project
save as ... for instance, ABCpool
(but leave open)
open A
Tools, resources, share resources from ABCpool
(even if ABCpool is still empty, don't worry)
open B
Tools, resources, share resources from ABCpool
open C
Tools, resources, share resources from ABCpool
Close and save the lot

Open ABCpool with the third option.
Projectx shows alml the taks of the three projects and its resource view
show total load.
