viewing TIFF files

R

Rob Meinecke

Hi, I posted this question a little while back, however,
the fix didn't work. Our church designs and prints
bulletins for other nearby churches using Pub. 2000. They
use a set of clipart discs with religious symbols and such
to add art to these bulletins. The clipart is TIFF
formatted. The TIFF files print fine, however when you
view them on screen prior to printing they are displayed as
black blocks. The suggested fix was to assure the picture
viewer was set to "display detail". Doing this did not
change the graphic's display though. It may be worth
noting that these TIFF files displayed fine in Pub. 98.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Rob there are about twenty flavours of TIF of which Publisher supports the
most common eight - which is the norm.
However, I find it interesting they displayed in Publisher 98 and do not
display in Publisher 2000.

I would suggest you download the *excellent* freeware Irfanview
www.irfanview.com and convert all the TIF files to PNG.
Irfanview will batch convert the whole lot in one go and anything else you
may want.
