Viewing Word 2002 documents in Word 2003

All our machines are running Office 2002 except for 2 which are running
Office 2003. One staff emailed a Word 2002 doc to a staff using Word 2003.
When the doc was opened in 2003, many additional pages were displayed and all
the deletions ever made to the document were displayed. The same document
was also emailed to the other staff using 2003 and the same thing happened.
I have been assured that track changes has never been used on this document.
I don't know if it's pertinent to this discussion, but we use Outlook 2003
and we host our email using Exchange Server 2003.

On every machine, navigate to Tools Options Save and assure
that Allow fast saves is not checked.

Then, open and save the document.

As you might be aware, there is a tool available from Office downloads to
assist with removing hidden tracking data and the like. However, if
version tracking was never used, that would not be an issue.

Let us know.

ALLOW FAST SAVES was unchecked in one Word 2003, but checked in the other.
Unchecked it and opened the document again, but it didn't correct the
situation.

You have to open the document and save it again with Allow fast saves
unchecked in order for the full save to incorporate changes into the
document and delete the changes component of the file.

OK, aside from trying the tool to remove tracking information, I have
nothing further to suggest.

: That didn't fix it, either.
