Can Project Manager and/or Team Members create personal views in PWA? If so,
what security permissions do they need to have?

Thanks,
Rachel

At the top PWA level, users will be automatically added to one of the
following 4 security groups.

- Web Administrators (Microsoft Office Project Server) Users who have
Manage Windows SharePoint Services permission in Microsoft Office Project
Server.
- Project Managers (Microsoft Office Project Server) Users who have
published this project or who have Save Project permission in Microsoft
Office Project Server.
- Team members (Microsoft Office Project Server) Users who have
assignments in this project in Microsoft Office Project Server.
- Readers (Microsoft Office Project Server) Users who have been added to
this project in Microsoft Office Project Server, but not assigned to tasks.
Web Administrators, Project Managers, and Team Members, all have the "Manage
Personal Views" permission enabled.

You can verify this by going to PWA>Site Actions>Site Settings>Advanced
permissions to view users and their security level. You can go one step
further from this page by going to Settings>Permissions Levels and viewing
each groups permission settings.

By default, project manager and team members cannot create or edit Views.
They must be Project Server administrators to do this. Although you can
edit the Project Managers group or the Team Members group and set the
"Manage Project Web Access" views permission to Allow, the system will allow
them to edit ALL views, not just their own Views. Are you certain you want
to do this? I think you are opening the door to havoc with your Project
Server 2007 system. Hope this helps.

I agree, I would not let PM/TM create views. But if you provide a new view
with the standard and custom fields, then PM's can drag columns around
rearranging the views provided in Project Center and can apply Filters that
will stick for them.
They select the Settings drop down on the upper right to access
Filters/Groups/etc.

Warning, a view with all fields will be slow to pull up and may affect
performance depending on the number of projects the PM has access to.
