Views with Gantt Chart Wizard.

Hi All.

I have used the gantt chart wizard to format the bars and milestone markers
etc. and it's all fine. The question is can I then save this view so that I
don't have to go through all the wizard again. The reason is that I want to
have at least 2 different views and I want to easily and quickly switch
between them.

I noticed on the first page of the wizard, there are 'other' views. Can I
save my preference in some way so that it can be called up here?

This method doesn't really do what I want. It only temporarily saves the
current view.

For example:
Let's say I set up the gantt bars looking how i want, I then save it as View
1. Now I change to another view, do some work and then come back to View 1
and yes it is how I formatted it before. However if I now change the way it
looks whilst View 1 is still selected, View 1 is now changed forever!! So
to get back to what I thought I had saved as View 1, I have to go through
the wizard again. The only way to avoid this is to be very careful about
what you change whilst a particular view is selected which really doesn't
help me.

As far as I can tell there is no way to permanantly save what I want which
is essentially the bar styles that are applied to the Gantt chart. Anyone
else got any ideas?

Hi Dave,

You could create a new private project. Create your views there and then
transfer them via the Organizer to the working projects. Then, if one gets
changed significantly, you can recover it from your private project.
