Virgin template?

B

Bob Newman

I am having trouble with the default formatiing for Word (2000). How do I
save as a template a "virgin" default. No tabs, no paragraph nubering, no
nothing.

Thanks in advance... Bob

Close Word.
Rename Normal.dot to something else.
Start Word.

Bingo - Word creates you a new, factory-standard Normal.dot.

That's my problem. I DO NOT want factory standard.

If I type: 1. ABC (ENTER) I get the next line automatically starting with
"2. "

I do NOT want it to do this. I want a BLANK document with NO preset
conditions.

Thanks... Bob

Bob,

Difficult, since this particular "feature" isn't a template feature; it's
one of many /user-selectable/ options.

Have a rummage under Tools > AutoCorrect; "as-you-type" (i.e.
d*** annoying) [mis-]formatting options are hidden under there.

Bob,

Are you sure? You seem to be getting "thank you" when you
hit the comma, now ;-)
