virtual function call in ms word

hi, i hope somebody can help.

when i try to open ms word 2000, i receive the error
virtual function call, subsequently, illegal operation
error.i have removed and re-installed ms office. Excel,
powerpoint are ok except for ms word.

any help would be appreciated
