I have noticed that Microsoft have begun to deliver their products on a
metered basis. I think that this is the wrong approach that will only drive
people away from Microsoft products, and towards Linux/MAC OS X.
I saw a commercial on UK television this evening for 'Go To my PC' and this
got me thinking.
My suggestion is that rather than moving new MS customers over to metered
use of MS products you might consider an new facility that would initially
analyze all the applications both MS and non MS, on my desktop, and
seamlessly transfer all my settings licenses etc up to a cloud maintained by
MS that would allow me to use all my applications on any computer with
internet access.
Forgive me if this is overly simplistic but its what I would like and what I
would be prepared to pay for.
