Virtual PC not yet in Office 2004 -- what to do?

Hello, I wonder if anyone has any info that can help...

I want to upgrade to Office 2004. But I need VPC and it isn't in the
current versions.

If I upgrade to Office 2004 now, will there be a way to get the
version with VPC when it comes out without paying for the upgrade all
over again?

You will be able to buy a standalone version of VPC 7 in due course, maybe
even with an upgrade price from v6 that came with Office X Pro (I don't
know). But I'm not sure whether it will be released at the same time as
Office 2004 Pro, or at a later date. (The reason why I wonder about that is
that when standalone VPC 7 is released it would usually have to be available
in various packages with and without copies of various versions of Windows.
VPC 6 is available in 5 different configurations including with Windows XP
Pro, XP Home, 2000, Upgrade and Standalone.) It depends how long you can
wait.

No, that's not at all what Paul's saying. Please calm down and re-read
his comment - the *standalone* VPC may not ship at the same time as VPC.

Office2004 Pro will ship with VPC7 and Windows XP Pro some time "soon".

Standalone VPC7s may take longer to get to market because they'll be in
a number of different configurations - i.e., with various flavors of
Windows.

Microsoft hasn't released anything more than that Office Pro will ship
soon. Nobody who knows anything more can say until it's officially
announced.
