Virtual PC vs. Office X

I currently have MS Office on Virtual PC Windows 98, and it keeps
locking up on me. This is the only reason I use Virtual PC, becaus of
the Office products. Should I remove Virtual PC and just purchase
Office X for Mac X? If so, what are the hardware requriements? I
have Max 10.1.3.
Thank you for your help!

Depends on how you use them - if you use only WinOffice's Word, XL and
Powerpoint (or, if you use Outlook, are willing to shift to Entourage),
and don't do anything with ActiveX controls, VBA6 commands, or other
Win-only features, I'd go with buying Office 2004 for Mac. It'll be
loads faster.

But note that if you don't want to spend the money, chances are there's an
easy fix to your WinOffice that will prevent it locking up, comparable to
re-generating the prefs file for Mac programs. But you'd need to ask some
WinOffice experts about that, and give them more detail about the problem.
You may want to try a not Mac-specific newsgroup and attempt to fix the
program you have before buying a new one. Though using Office in Windows 98
sounds like a far less pleasant experience than MacOffice 2004.
