Virus Check Engine Error

I have been receiving the following error when trying to open an email (from
a trusted source) with an attachment. "We could not check the email you are
trying to open because the virus check engine reported an error. To open the
unchecked message, click OK." Does anyone know how to fix this? I use
McAfee for my virus protection service. This problem just started happening
a couple of weeks ago. Does updating the new Outlook Connector program work?
I've never had to do this before.

This just started happening to me too. Looking for a fix.

Right after I posted the initial message, I worked with someone at Microsoft
that helped me out. He uninstalled and then reinstalled my Outlook Connector
program - to the newest version. I hadn't ever done an updated version of my
connector program (2003 version I think) and it worked. So I recommend going
to your Outlook program, highlight Outlook Connector, select contact us,
search for Outlook Connector, and then choose individual chat support. And
away you go. It took about an hour and a half total for him to figure out
everything and fix it. So far so good! And he sends his email address so
that you can contact him with problems after the fact. Good luck!

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the input. Actually, we do have McAfee set up that way. I ended
up going to the Microsoft support chat desk and the person helped uninstall
and the reinstall the latest Outlook Connector. And so far so good!
