Virus Scanning for Attachment

When I download attachments with Entourage, it does not scan for viruses and therefore my computer will not allow me to open the file! It says that the file may be corrupt. How can I solve this problem?

True, Entourage does not scan for viruses when you download attachments,
however, most virus scanners will scan your files when you either open
them or save them to a location on your computer.

Are you possibly receiving large attachments and is Entourage waiting
for you to click the link at the top of the message to "Get entire message".
