Virus Scanning

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to turn off virus scanning in Word. Every time I open
a document I get the 'Requesting Virus Scan' message at the bottom of the
screen. I've turned Macro virus scanning down to 'Low' but am still getting
this message. Anyone have any ideas ? TIA.

Turn off the virus scanning for Office in your anti-virus software. If you
are using Norton Anti-Virus, clear the check box of Office Plug-in (under
Options, Misc.)

I found your reply helpful also. I had unclicked ".wpd" files in
SmaretScan/Custom, but hadn't known about the Office plug-in option.
