Is it better to update virus scans on the web or purchase new ones--either way it costs you..

Download AVG Anti-virus. It's a great programme, it's free and, more
importantly, so are the downloads (BTW, downloading updates is
infinitely better than buying because you get them right away...exactly
when you need them).
