virus warning Bug in Outlook 2002 w/ Office SP3

using Outlok 2002, installed Office SP-3, connected to MSN mail server with
MSN outlook connector. Once SP-3 was installed evey time address book
accessed by me (selection a address to put in a new message) I get a warning
box--" Another program is trying to access the address book , it could be a
virus, it is recommended that you choose no." ( not verbatium). the box gives
the choice YES with a optional time pull down box or NO. Outlook works fine
with either choice. I have tested by 2 on line virus programs, Symantec and
Micro-tend and on board Symentac Internet security AV/ Firewall. Nothing
found. I have every conceiveable ad and spyware program and have tested
clean. I've posted threads with Tech support Forum and found another user
called MSN, paid $35 to be told to just uninstall the SP-3.
Help!!Do in uninstall the SP3 andloose the suposed increased security. I've
been on the phone with Qwest/MSN suport. XP virus support. MSN support to no
avail.

I just read your link, first I disabled the Norton add in for antispam in
the COM window and it did not change, than changed the email editor to remove
word and that was it. Now I might be able to go into word and take out the
adobe acrobat COM to see if that's it or not, but that solves the problem. I
just won't use word or I'll ignore the message. The same service pack that
updated both programs product having a bug with the other, who could have
ever guessed.

At what point does this happen? When you create a new message?

No, it's the Adobe load behavior. It loads with Word not Outlook so Outlook
can't check it and calls it unsafe (security pop-up).

Add-ins but the box wassn't checked by it. Winfax add-in was there would
that do it? use winfax in word all the time I'd hate to take it out. can I
tell Outlook to ignore adobe? give it a security certificate or something.

WinFAX is another application that has side-effects in Outlook. WinFAX
V10.3 supposedly fixes them.

Brian, I've been all over Symantec web site looking go Winfax 10.3
haven't found it. The Live updater doesn't seam to update my 10.02 it
either. Got a link to 10.3" or an actural phone number to Symantec. All I
get on S ymantec web site is a mobius strip of self help links.

haven't found it. The Live updater doesn't seam to update my 10.02 it

The knowledgebase at Symantec mentions a "replacement CD" that may fix the
problem. I've read of a 10.03 in a newsgroup somewhere and linked the two,
