I posted a message here and got some great help
However
I have since recieved a virus from...

From: Microsoft Security Division
Subject: Network Security Update.

The file q431317.exe was infected with the virus
W32.Gibe.B@mm

actually sent from <[email protected]> and or
<[email protected]>

So unfortunately reccommend that you don't include you
senders address

Your receipt of that message very likely has nothing to do with your posting
here. Unless you've been living in a cave, your email address has been
exposed in other ways. But that's why you have AV software.

Thanks Sue for being so diplomatic
My cave is fine.
I have my own domain.
Every time I am required to leave my email address I use a
unique email address so that I can track who has misused
my email address (to spammers etc) In this case it is
categorically this forum.

NB the sender supposedly was >> From: Microsoft Security
Division
but the actual sender was <[email protected]>
As stated
This tends to indicate a more than passing familiarity
with the internet by me.

So my statement stands, who is targetting email address's
from this forum and what if anything can be done about it

Actually, I got the same message just after I posted to
this newsgroup, so I guess I'm living in a cave (with
AntiVirus software, of course).
