Virus - which one with word?

While using Microsoft Word XP, more and more we are
experiencing a problem with the text in word. When
scrolling through a typed document, all of a sudden text,
whether it is one paragraph, three or how many ever, it
turns into squares and a bunch of jibberish. We have
tried converting it back into different readable fonts,
but with no success. I was told that this might be a
virus from a few months ago, what virus may this be?

Hi Brent,

It could be a variant of the Klez. Initially Klez only infected closed
files but a variant, W32.ElKern.4926, attempts to insert its code into
all running processes. This can result in files being reinfected after
a full system scan has found no viruses.
