Visaul Basic - Editor Format

I changed the format of the "comments in VBA program files but both program
instructions and comments changed to the new font. When I attempted to
restore the original conditions the moment I open the "Optiions-Tools-Editor
Format" in VBA - the system crashes. I have reinstalled "Office XP 2002"
program but the original fault remains.
Can anyone offer a solution, please?

In case anyone also has this problem - I found a 'work around'. By going
back to a System Restore point the day before I tried to alter the editor, I
re-established the earlier format.
It would still be nice to know what went wrong and why the original problem
occurred
