visGetOrMakeGUID returns different value each time

Hi,
We have created four stencils. We use these stencils to create custom
solution with add-in, add-on support.

I modified the image for a master in a stencil with a new gif. The
application strangely started returning a new GUID for same shape object
each time in the application. I did not face the problem with old stencils.
Can some body tell me what's the problem?

Did the master change? If you edit the master, the UniqueID will change.
Masters also have a BaseID property that does not change when the master is
edited.

Hi Mark,
The master changed to the extent that the image associated in "Open
group" while Editing master is replaced with a new one. The problem we are
facing is that GUID returned from same shape object (not master) inside the
custom application varies from function to function. This was not the case
with earlier. The shape returned same GUID for a call of visGetOrMakeGUID.
This is perplexing how the change in image can cause the Visio calls to
behave differently. Please let me know if I am missing some thing here.
