I believe I can report a problem with Word 2007. I have searched the
Microsoft Discussion Groups and only found an inconclusive group of posting
from 2005 (presumably not about Word 2007) on this topic.
It concerns the visible size of an inserted Picture. Briefly, the size in
Word 2000 is the print size (e.g., PPI times pixels), which I believe is
correct. The size in Word 2007 is related only to the pixel size, which I
believe is incorrect.
I created with PhotoShop 6.0 2 images 800/600 pixels and 2 images 400/300
pixels.
In each pair I set PPI to give one image a print size of 4"/3" and the other
a print size of 2"/1.5".
I then inserted all four into a Word 2000 and into a Word 2007 document.
In Word 2000 the images appear in correct print size, e.g., 4" or 2" wide,
which I believe is correct. In Word 2007 the 800/400 pixel images both
appear 4-3/8" wide and the 400/300 pixel images both appear 2-3/16" inches
wide. I believe this is incorrect behavior.
Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.
