Visio 2000 adds invisible pages

Help!! I am using Visio 2000 on a Dell computer with
Windows 2000 Professional. Last week Visio started
randomly "adding invisible pages" to certain documents.
Not all -- the pages only show up in the top window bar;
if you minimize them you can have up to 40 invisible pages
in a document that only has two pages.

If you close each page and then save it again it may work
but if you re-open it later they may or may not be there.

Frustration -- and dangerous. If you make changes to
the "wrong" page they don't take on the "real" page one or
two. Help!!!!

1.) Can this be fixed; we loaded the newest SP for Visio
but that didn't help.

2.) Is it a universal problem?

3.) Would upgrading to 2002 or 2003 help? This would be
expensive since we have Visio on multiple computers.

You advise is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean by invisible pages. What type of drawing are you
making and where do you see 40 pages?
