visio 2000 doesn't work in Windows XP

visio files created in visio 2000 and Windows 2000 cannot be opened in visio
2000 and windows xp, the following messages appear:

Visio 2000 Program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience

The instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at "0x00000004",The memory
could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.
