Visio 2000 Gantt Chart: Overlay timescale region with grid lines

The column headings above the timescale region contain major and minor
time units. Those headings are nicely separated with lines between
time units. Is there a way to project these lines down so that the
cover the area below, where the horizontal task bars are depicted?
