VISIO 2000 - It's randomly moving shapes when I reopen file HELP!

Make sure you save the file after you re-arrange the shapes before verifying
your work.

That's when it happens. If I save the file it's fine. When I close the file
and re-open it, the shapes move - sometimes off the page completely. I'm
using Visio 2000, Office 2003 and XP. The problem seems to happen
exclusively inside process lane objects.

Something makes me want to think it has to do with scale, but something
definately sounds screwy.

Another thing to try, copy/paste your drawing into a fresh document.

That's been my workaround solution - I've had to recreate my drawings in new
documents - which is OK for one or two drawings but I'm creating system wide
process documentation - I have six or seven files with 10 -12 tabs in each
file.

Thanx for responding.

So, does copy/pasting fix it permanently?

If so, view the "shapesheet" for the whole document and make the scale there
match that of a brand new sheet.

I posted early yeaterday with the same problem (sorry should of checked
further) copy & paste doesn't solve it permanently for me, but it doesn't
happen to all my visio files (visio 2000 on office 2000). I open them up, it
looks perfect, it then thinks for a minute (litteraly) and spreads all my
shapes, swimlanes, connectors all over the place.

recreating the entire file solves it, but not every time.

@rse, I really hoped someone would have a brilliant solution. The original
file is ok on the authors machine, just when they save it and its opened by
someone else across a network.
