visio 2000 SR-1 how to tell for upgrade purposes?

Thinking about upgradiong to visio 2003. I have 2000 but not sure about
"SR-1". Have had this version for quite a while, before MS acquired it.

Also, can I have a copy on my desktop AND my laptop?

Thanks

SR1 was the first release after Microsoft acquired Visio, so the first
indicator you have SR1 is the presence of Microsoft's name. For a while MS
had a "free" upgrade for Visio 2000 to Visio 2000 SR1. Due to the branding
change, the upgrade was only as on a CD ordered directly from Microsoft.
Just after Visio 2003 was released, the upgrade was dropped.

I have not checked this in a while, but Visio's policy was desktop AND
laptop.

So, since the first screen is all about Visio and nothing to do with MS my
guess is they will want me to pay for a full product and not an upgrade.
Interesting. Got to think this over. Thanks John, that was what I needed to
know. If you have any other ideas or suggestions please forward them.

Have a great and successful new year.
