Visio 2000 Stencil & page background colour black

Instead of green background for stencils and light blue for page background
(default colours) my back ground stencil and page colour is entirely black.
This makes Visio unuseable. I had this issue once before and had to change
something in the register. The solution worked perfectly for years but a
recent virus incident has forced a complete PC rebuild which has led to this
issue arising again. I have Win XP previously Win 2000 Pro. Any ideas on how
to resolve this.

Have you tried clicking on the TOOLS menu, then OPTIONS, then the tab marked
VIEW and change your colors there under the "Color Settings" heading?

I tried this, while you can change the page background to a more suitable
colour the stencile background remains the same. When you close and reopen
the page the black background returns as this has been set as default. I add
not by me. I have had to rebuild the PC due to virus. I had this happen
before and the only way it was corrected was changing register entries but I
cannot remember how as this was accomplished as this was some years ago now.
Thanks.
