Visio 2000 upgrade from 5.0 issues

OS- Windows 2000 SP4
Upgrading Visio from 5.0 to 2000 version.
After choosing a template I receive the error, " Program Error - Visio32 has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
Error log is worthless, gives me no information I can use. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any thoughts. Originally I used SP3 but thought SP4 may be the answer. Negative. Office 2000 has been updated with all updates.
?????
Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas appreciated.

Hello,

The following are the possible causes:

1. The VGA driver: If it is related to Matrox, the issue may occur (Also GeForce may cause this issue); if this is the case, try
with updated video drivers.

2. Printer: Create a fake printer using ADD PRINTER wizard and set that as the default printer. After a restart, try to launch
visio and verify the status. Mostly this will help you.
