Visio 2002 Pro SP2 / pkmtempl.dll

Hallo.
I have patched my Visio 2002 Pro media with SP2.
All clients that run Visio with SP1 get the new version
successfully, thru active directory software policy.
All new installation works also, but in SP2 pkmtempl.dll
is updated. All new installation of Visio with SP2
deletes this file... Why? Very strange...
So if i install Access 2002 with sp3,Frontpage 2002 and
Visio Sp2 without start Access first.. First time i run
Access its run the configuration and fail on pkmtempl.dll.
So my question is why Visio does with Sp2 deletes
pkmtempl.dll on new installations.

Hi Rich,

Hmmmm. That file is a sharepoint portal server
template file in the Webfolder Common files area.

What option install items are you
including in your Visio 2002 new installations?

We running all Visio installations from Active Directory,
Software Policy in Publish Mode. The mst file is built
with default values. But i dont understand why the file
is removed... SP2 updates this file.

Hi,

Based on my resarech, pkmtempl.dll is related to Microsoft SharePoint
Portal Server Template format Agent.
This dll is not used anymore and it adds registration for some com objects
that are nonexistent. So we can jsut ignore this file.

Hi,

What kind of action you were referring to? If you referred to the
pkmtempl.dll, it is not necessary to remove it. What we need to do is to
ignore the file.

Hope it helps.

Sincerely,

Arnold Gao
