Visio 2002 SP2 Timeline

I have just updated my Visio 2002 to SP2. Previously,
when I tried to enter a date before 1900, Visio hung.
Now, no matter what date I enter, it resets it to
12/30/1899. I'd like to use Visio for genealogical
timelines. HELP!

According to Microsoft, time began on 12/30/1899. Visio uses the date and
calendar systems that are defined within Windows. Unfortunately, this do
not work well for historical timelines.
