Visio 2002 + Windows XP: highlighted text is no longer visible

When I highlight text in Visio 2002 (XP), the highlight is solid and the text
cannot be seen.

Last week I installed SP2 for Visio 2002 and it fixed the problem
temporarily but now, it's back and I'm puzzled.

Solutions, anyone?

I also have the same problem. After highlighting the text, the highlight is
solid and the text cannot be seen. When you single-click the text, the text
disappears (as of whited-out), but you can still place the cursor in the
middle of the existing text. Once you begin typing, the text reappears.

Is this what you are experiencing? If so, did you find a solution?

I found the solution. I uninstalled and reinstalled Visio 2002 into a
different directory than Office

Default Directory = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
New Directory = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio 2002

Boy that was frustrating
