Visio 2003 and ActiveX

Gilgamesh4Ever

I need to develop an ActiveX which could be used to generate a process flow
diagram. The diagram should be generated based on the data which already
exist in a SQL server database. The project is to embed the ActiveX in an
ASP page, which could be downloaded on the client machine. In addition, the
ActiveX should provide drag-and-drop capability as well.
Has anybody developed anything like this using Visio SDK?
Thanks,
Gilgamesh

short answer, to change a visio drawing (activex or not) visio must be
installed on the system.

If having the full Visio installation installed and licensed on your client
is not an option for you, you might want to consider other ActiveX
controls which only require the developer to have a license.
Our MetaDraw ( www.MetaDraw.com ) can be used for creating diagrams.
This can be embedded in the client side browser to allow drag and drop
within the diagram.
