Visio 2003 and AutoCAD 2006 question.

Currently I am using Visio 2000 Pro. and AutoCAD Lt 2006 I have to "save as"
an AutoCAD 2000 file in order for Visio to recignize it. If I upgrade to
Visio 2003 will it recognize AutoCAD Lt. 2006 files?? Mostly the issue is
when I have CAD drawings that are using Architectural Desk Top to creat walls
and etc. the Visio will not pick them up nor will the walls be picked up if I
do a "save as" 2000 file for AutoCAD doesn't know about the advanced features
of the 2006 software.

If anybody has a trick to share or advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, kc8jvh

Thanks for the reply Mark,

So if I'm following you correctly......Visio 2003 will not suport AutoCAD
2006 but will still support AutoCAD 2000. Is that correct? I prefer to use
AtoCAD 2006 and the only reason I have AutoCAD 2000 is for inserting drawings
into Visio. So my quest would be to eliminate AutoCAD 2000 from being the
"transitional" software.

Sorry for taking up your time, it's just that my IT department would like
Visio drawings for their networking drawings, and they rely on me to get them
the files in a format they can use. So they can't support me much with the
conversion process.

At this point, you must still use the AutoCAD 2000 format as a go between.
