Notachance
Hi there.
Is there a known problem with Visio 2003 reading external CHM files?
We have a Visio package that works fine in Visio 2002 using the
InvokeHelp mechanism to open a bundled CHM file. When run on 2003,
Visio just opens the standard "Visio Help" tile, no sign of the
bundled CHM.
Using PublishedComponent vs a file path install made no discernable
difference. Referencing the CHM file by right-clicking a shape and
using Format->Special->Help doesn't work either, it just opens the
tile again. However, setting the shape's help value to a non-existent
file generates different behaviour ("Shape basics" floating window
appears), so it seems to be finding the file but refusing to display
it.
Interestingly, this problem seems to be exhibited in Visio's bundled
stencils. For example, dropping an entity from the Database->Entity
Relationship stencil shows a shape with a Help reference of
Vis_D200.chm!#54176, yet clicking the Help option just shows the
"Shape basics" tile, _not_ the contents of Vis_D200.chm.
Suggestions gratefully received!
