Visio 2003 and language settings

Hi all,

I already asked this in the maybe more appropriate german newsgroup
but haven't got any answer so far and since this is very annoying I
have to ask here again:

I'm working with a german Visio 2003 on XP Home. The diagrams I have
to create are in English and of course I do set the language in
File-Properties to just that.

What annoys me is, that every time I'm adding a new shape and some
text to it, or simply edit the text of some prior drawn shapes, the
newly added text defaults to german, which of course gets marked by
the spell checker. I then have to mark that text and modify it's
properties to "Language-English" to get rid of the errors.

My question is: How do I convince Visio that I want english texts in
my english document.

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

TIA

I believe the setting is taken from your input language setting in Windows.
Go to the Control Panel or Language bar and change the input language to
English.

Mark,
I believe the setting is taken from your input language setting in Windows.
Go to the Control Panel or Language bar and change the input language to
English.

thanks for your reply. A quick test seems to prove you right,
switching to English as input language makes the shapes default to
English as well. And I even can combine it with a german keyboard.

A little bizarre a procedure but surely workable.

Thank you very much, you save my right mouse button thousands of
clicks!!!
