Visio 2003 CTRL click in web page

M

Michael

I've saved a visio drawing as a webpage and all looks great, however when I
CTRL click on a shape to view the custom properties IE opens a new windows
with nothing in it instead of showing the shape properties.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael,

I assume you're using Visio 2003, correct? What version of IE are you using?
Also, what OS are you using? Does this happen on just one machine, or have
you tried multiple machines? What is your output format for the graphic
(vml, jpg, gif, png, or svg)? Do you have any hyperlinks on the shapes?

Visio 2003 Pro running on Window XP Pro with IE6

Happens on more than one machine but not all machines, using VML as the
ooutput format

Well, you've stumped me. This sounds like an IE setting gone bad. However, I
can't find any setting that would cause the behavior you're seeing.

If you want to send me your Visio file, I can try saving it to see if I
encounter the same behavior. Also, if you want to zip up the html file and
all the files in the associated subfolder, I can take a look at the output
on my machine. Just remove online from my email address.

Not sure if this helps but when I CTRL Click a link on any web pages, it
opens the page in another IE Window?

That definitely helps. I know that if you hold down the shift key while
clicking a link, IE will launch the link in a new browser. I hadn't ever
seen this happen with the CTRL key before though. There's got to be a
setting somewhere that controls this but I'm unable to find it.
