Visio 2003 Diagram pasted into Word Causes crash when Printed

Y

Yvonne

Running Windows XP with Office 2003
When I copy a diagram from Visio and Paste into a Word document, everything
is fine until I try to print my machine crashes. I'm able to print to other
printers on our network, but not the specific HP B&W in my office. Also, the
same document does not have this behavior on other machines in the office.

This was happening on my old computer, I since have gotten a new one, but
the same thing is happening. Today more memory was added to my computer,
still the same thing is happening.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I have not heard about this particular issue before. A general suggestion
is to make sure you are using Service Pack 2 of Visio 2003. Several printer
problems have been addressed in the service packs.

visio nut

I have just had the same thing happen with Viso 2007 Pro and Word 2003.
mark is there any known problem? I can print pages 1-4, that don't have a
visio object. But page 5 does, and it crashes, instant black screen.

Still trying to find a work around. Suspect I will have to delete the Visio
stuff, save file, open file, paste back in and see if it works. It is going
to an HP printer as well.

This may help others:
In this instance, the Visio drawing was taken from an imported Autocad dwg
drawing, and as I only used part of it, I deleted a lot. Some, what I would
call artifacts, remained from the dwg. After I deleted them, it inserted into
Word 2003 just fine, and also printed, just fine. Strange..............

Hi:

I have just started using visio and have inserted visio diagrams into Word
documents. Every time I print a doucment with a vision diagram my laptop
bluescreens. I can print the vision diagram fine from visio. I am using
visio 2007 and printing to an HP4350. My word version is Word2002 sp3. Any

Update to my previous message. I read futher down the posted questions and
found the solution. Patch KB935843 fixed the problem. Thank you Ronio.
